How do I install the Gloomin extension?

Visit the Chrome Web Store, search for "Gloomin", and click "Add to Chrome". The extension icon will appear in your browser toolbar. Click it to start using Gloomin instantly.

Is Gloomin free to use?

Yes! Gloomin offers a free plan with essential features. You can start recording and capturing screenshots immediately after installation.

Do I need to create an account?

An account is recommended to access features like auto-save, cloud storage, and link sharing. However, you can use basic recording and download features without an account.

Recording Features

How do I start a screen recording?

Click the Gloomin extension icon in your browser toolbar and select "Start Recording". Choose your recording area (full screen, browser tab, or specific window) and click "Share". Recording begins immediately.

Can I pause and resume recordings?

Yes! Use the pause button during recording. Your recording will continue from where you left off without creating separate files.

What's the maximum recording length?

Free users can record up to 5 minutes per video. Premium users have unlimited recording time.

Can I record audio along with screen?

Yes, you can enable microphone audio and system audio before starting your recording. Just toggle the audio options in the recording setup.

Screenshots & Editing

How do I take a screenshot?

Click the Gloomin icon and select "Capture Screenshot". Choose between full screen or select a specific area. Your screenshot is captured instantly.

Can I edit screenshots after capturing?

Absolutely! After capturing, you can draw, highlight, add arrows, blur sensitive areas, crop, and add text annotations using our built-in editor.

Can I trim or edit recorded videos?

Yes, you can trim videos, add comments at specific timestamps, and highlight important moments in your recordings.

How do I blur sensitive information?

In the editor, select the blur tool and drag over any area you want to obscure. This works for both screenshots and video frames.

Sharing & Downloading

How do I share my recordings?

After recording, click "Share" to generate a public link that you can copy and share anywhere. You can also share privately via email directly from the dashboard.

Can I download my recordings?

Yes! All recordings and screenshots are automatically saved to your dashboard. Click the download button to save files locally to your device.

Where are my files stored?

All your files are securely stored in the cloud and accessible from your Gloomin dashboard at app.gloomin.com. You can access them from any device.

Can I control who sees my recordings?

Yes. You can share via public link (anyone with the link can view) or send private invites via email to specific people.

Account & Billing

How do I upgrade to premium?

Visit your account settings at app.gloomin.com, click "Upgrade Plan", and choose your preferred subscription. We accept all major credit cards.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes, you can cancel anytime from your account settings. Your premium features will remain active until the end of your billing period.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and PayPal.

Troubleshooting

The extension isn't working. What should I do?

Try these steps: 1) Refresh your browser, 2) Disable and re-enable the extension, 3) Clear browser cache, 4) Reinstall the extension. If issues persist, contact support.

My recordings are laggy or poor quality

Close unnecessary browser tabs and applications. For best quality, ensure you have a stable internet connection and sufficient system resources.

I can't find my saved recordings.

Check your dashboard at app.gloomin.com. Make sure you're logged into the correct account. All recordings are saved automatically when logged in.

Which browsers are supported?

Gloomin works best on Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers. Firefox and Safari support is coming soon.
