  • Cookies: Authentication cookies from gloomin.com used to verify your identity and maintain your session
  • Session Information: Information necessary to authenticate you with your Gloomin account

1.3 Usage Data

  • Extension Settings: Your preferences for capture modes, microphone settings, and other configuration options stored locally in your browser

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

  • Core Functionality: To capture, process, and upload screenshots and recordings to your Gloomin account
  • Authentication: To verify your identity and ensure only you can access your captures
  • User Preferences: To remember your settings and provide a personalized experience
  • Service Delivery: To store and make your captures accessible through the Gloomin web application

We do not:

  • Collect any data without your explicit action (clicking capture/record)

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Extension settings and preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
  • Remote Storage: Captured screenshots and recordings are uploaded to and stored on Gloomin servers (gloomin.com)
  • Encryption: All data transmitted between the extension and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols
  • Access Control: Only you can access your captures through your authenticated Gloomin account

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information or captures to third parties. Your screenshots and recordings are private and only accessible to you through your Gloomin account.

5. Your Rights and Control

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Deletion: You can delete individual captures or your entire account at any time
  • Export: You can download your captures from the Gloomin web application
  • Uninstall: You can uninstall the extension at any time, which will remove all locally stored settings

6. Permissions Explained

The Extension requires the following Chrome permissions to function:

  • desktopCapture: To capture your screen, windows, or browser tabs for recordings
  • tabs: To capture screenshots of your active browser tab
  • activeTab: To access the currently active tab for capturing
  • storage: To save your extension preferences locally
  • scripting: To inject the capture interface overlay into web pages
  • cookies: To read authentication cookies for your Gloomin account
  • tabCapture: To capture audio and video from browser tabs during recording
  • Host permissions: To work on all websites where you may want to capture content and to communicate with Gloomin servers

Important: The Extension only captures content when you explicitly click the capture or record button. We do not monitor, track, or access your browsing activity.

7. Data Retention

  • Captures: Your screenshots and recordings are stored on Gloomin servers until you choose to delete them
  • Local Settings: Extension preferences remain in your browser until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data
  • Account Deletion: If you delete your Gloomin account, all associated captures will be permanently deleted from our servers

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

10. International Users

If you are accessing the Extension from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our servers are located. By using the Extension, you consent to this transfer.
